CHRISTINA MORGAN-DIAZ BIO

 

Billboard Charting artist, Christina Morgan-Diaz’s latest single, “You Are” rose to #33 on Billboard’s Top 40 Indicator chart. Christina is also a Contemporary Christian and Gospel award-winning singer/songwriter, born and raised in Queens, New York and winner of the ’21 Kindred Music Award. Her radio single, “I Need More,” also charted #53 on the 150 Independent Airplay Chart and reached the top 200 Global Airplay Chart. Her single hit the Top 40 radio playlist nationwide.

Born to a mother from Cali, Colombia and father of American- Italian-Irish descent, Christina takes pride in her multi-ethnic heritage. She began her singing career at a young age within the church youth choir, located within the ethnically diverse neighborhood of Queens, New York and high school band. Christina describes music as her lifeline. She has found solace through singing and music writing during difficult periods in her life while witnessing her mother’s mental illness. Inspired by poetry and mentors, Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee, Christina is musically influenced by the joys and challenges from her early life. Christina’s deep understanding of our human experience would later propel her into also becoming a licensed mental health counselor wherein she has served the local NY urban community for the past decade.

A graduate from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), she completed her musical theatre BFA from New School University, where she also obtained a certificate in Drama Therapy. Christina went on to obtain a Masters in Mental Health Counseling at Nyack College’s Alliance Graduate School of Counseling.

Christina Morgan-Diaz is a lead worship leader and a member of Evangel Church in Queens, New York. In 2021, her commitment, creativity and vocal abilities were recognized and led to her winning the Kindred Ministries Award as well as nomination for Best New Artist. She was nominated again in 2022 for Best Female Vocalist and Best Cover Song. She has sung on live network television with the Ron Crichlow Ensemble for the Dr. Oz Show, The Chew, and was a featured artist for the 2017 Gospel Image Awards honoring Grammy award winning artist Dr. Bobby Jones.
Christina Morgan-Diaz is committed to using her divinely inspired musical gifts and vocals to serve and minister to those in need world-wide.
